Great question! You can call or text 904-325-6070. As I am the one both answering phone calls and providing services, any missed calls or voice messages will be returned as soon as possible. You can also email bcarr@historicallyspeakingslp.com. If you would like to set up a video call via Google Meet, please text to arrange a time. I hope to hear from you soon!
In-person services primarily take place in my home office in a World Golf Village neighborhood near SR 16 and I-95. I am also able to travel to daycares and provide in-home services based on schedule availability and distance. However, if none of these options work for you, I am licensed to serve anyone in the state of Florida via teletherapy.
Historically Speaking provides screenings, evaluations, and therapy in the areas of speech and language. Screenings can include a review of information, formal, and/or informal measures. Based on the screening, if an evaluation is warranted, additional measures will be used to determine specific areas of strength and weakness in order to make recommendations on whether or not therapy is warranted and develop a therapy plan (if warranted). And if needed, therapy to remediate these areas is provided on a weekly basis, with frequency and duration based on evaluation results.
At this time, I am not in-network with any insurances. Services provided can be paid for with cash, check, or card, and payment is due at time of service. I am also able to provide a superbill, which allows you to submit for reimbursement from your insurance.
The short answer is yes. However, if you have a recent evaluation from another agency or school, considerations can be made based on area of need and available information. Additionally, if you are seeking additional or summer therapy for a student with an existing IEP, a comprehensive review of information may be enough. If you believe either of these apply to you, please contact me for details as decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.
I am dedicated to providing each client with the support and advocacy needed in order to succeed, and at times, that can include providing information and support at IEP meetings. Contact me for additional details, as this is decided on a case-by-case— and meeting-by-meeting— basis.
